This week workers from Disability Services joined with people with disabilities, and their families to show the importance of disability services to their local communities and how the community expects local politicians to deliver quality services for people with disabilities. 

That's what the Disabilities Week of Action was all about. That's what this blog is all about highlighting and that's why the people sticking up for quality services in disabilities should motivate us all. That's why we will keep fighting with these workers for quality services as part of our movement.

Queensland is a great place for families to live, work and grow. Keeping Queensland kids safe is something we are all need to take responsibility for, it’s a responsibility that police workers, both sworn officers and police staff take seriously.

The Newman government is cutting police jobs and support services, putting this commitment at risk. We have seen again that they are more concerned with job cut targets than keeping our streets safe.

Campbell Newman promised to protect jobs and protect services before he was elected, but instead his government has been cutting, closing, and tearing Queensland apart.

Tens of thousands of workers and families have suffered because the government ignored its promises and the voices of those who care about the services and jobs in local communities.
